Donald Trump not immune from prosecution, Atlanta DA says

Former President Donald Trump is not immune from prosecution for alleged crimes he committed during his presidency to reverse the 2020 election results, a Georgia prosecutor said Wednesday.

For the first time since the investigation began, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis presented evidence to a special grand jury that Trump and his allies interfered in the 2020 election in Georgia.

In a court filing released Wednesday, Willis wrote that "the evidence presented to the grand jury would support multiple felony indictments for Mr. Trump." The filing said that Trump and his allies "sought to overturn the results of the 2020 Georgia presidential election by pressuring state officials to alter the results."

The filing also said that Trump and his allies made "false statements" about the election results and "attempted to intimidate witnesses and election workers."

The grand jury is expected to complete its investigation and issue a report by the end of the year.
